Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro is widely recognised as one of the most distinguished Portuguese artists of recent decades, having achieved remarkable international acclaim as a piano soloist, chamber musician, and artistic director.<\/span><\/p>

Born in Porto, he graduated and completed his doctorate at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, where he studied for five years under the guidance of the renowned pedagogue Lyudmila Roschina. Since then, he has pursued an intense career, appearing in the most prestigious concert seasons and festivals across Europe, America, Asia, and Oceania.<\/span><\/p>

Described as a poet of the piano, he stands out for the mastery with which he explores an exceptionally wide repertoire, adapting with great versatility to styles such as the Baroque, Romantic, and contemporary periods, and he is the dedicatee of works by several Portuguese and international composers. His solo discography reflects this artistic breadth and includes music ranging from Bach to Ravel, from Beethoven to Mussorgsky, and from Debussy to Prokofiev.<\/span><\/p>

As a soloist, he has performed with the leading Portuguese orchestras as well as with prominent ensembles from various European and American countries. Deeply devoted to chamber music, he has collaborated with many of today\u2019s most celebrated performers.<\/span><\/p>

A decisive milestone in his artistic path was the founding, in 2006, of the DSCH \u2013 Schostakovich Ensemble, of which he is artistic director. The ensemble\u2019s discography includes the first complete world recording of Shostakovich\u2019s chamber music with piano, as well as Beethoven\u2019s Trios Op. 11 and 38, albums that received widespread praise from specialised critics.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

His creative vision as an artistic director and curator has led him to conceive and lead numerous major projects over the past two decades. In 2015, he founded Ver\u00e3o Cl\u00e1ssico in Lisbon, now widely regarded as one of the most important classical music festivals and academies internationally. He is also currently the artistic director of the Festival dos Capuchos and of the Bragan\u00e7a ClassicFest, as well as curator of the cycle Musical-Mente at the Teatro Nacional S\u00e3o Jo\u00e3o in Porto.<\/p>

A committed advocate and promoter of new generations of musicians, he taught Piano for a decade at Portuguese universities, regularly gives masterclasses, and in 2022 founded the Juventus Ensemble, bringing together established musicians and emerging young talents.<\/span><\/p>
