Graduated as a pianist from the \"Hanns Eisler\" School of Music in Berlin, where he studied with Annerose Schmidt and Hella Walter-Arndt, and participated in several international masterclasses with Murray Perahia, Leon Fleisher, Brigitte Engerer, and Graham Johnson.<\/span><\/p>

Matthias has appeared in concert as collaborative pianist with some of today\u2019s most distinguished opera singers, including Olga Peretyatko, Dmitry Korchak, Anna Samuil, Lena Belkina, Alfredo Daza and Marina Prudenskaya.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

As both soloist and collaborative pianist, he has received numerous awards at international competitions. In 2016, he was awarded the prize for Best Collaborative Pianist at the \u201cTriomphe de l\u2019Art\u201d Competition in Brussels.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

He has performed in some of the world\u2019s leading concert venues, including the Berlin Philharmonie, the Palau de les Arts in Valencia, the Moscow International House of Music, the Berlin State Opera, the Konzerthaus Berlin, and the Muziekgebouw in Amsterdam.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

He has also taken part in numerous live broadcasts and CD recordings.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

Born in 1989 in Macau, Pedro Costa studied in Portugal with Fausto Neves in Espinho and Lu\u00eds Filipe S\u00e1 at ESMAE in Porto. He later completed, with distinction, a Master\u2019s degree in Piano with Piet Kuijken at the Brussels Conservatory, and a Master\u2019s in Vocal Accompaniment \/ Lied at the University of Graz, studying with Joseph Breinl and Julius Drake.<\/span><\/p>

He has won prizes in several national and international competitions, most notably the 1st Piano Prize at the Helmut Deutsch Lied Competition in Vienna (2021) and the 2nd Prize at the \"Franz Schubert & Modern Music\" International Lied Competition in Graz (2022).<\/span><\/p>

He has performed at various European concert halls, including Wigmore Hall in London, the Gro\u00dfe Saal Mozarteum in Salzburg, Casa da M\u00fasica, and the Centro Cultural de Bel\u00e9m (CCB). He has also appeared as a soloist with several Portuguese orchestras.<\/span><\/p>

Colabora regularmente como professor e m\u00fasico convidado com o projeto educativo Xiquitsi em Maputo, Mo\u00e7ambique. Como co-fundador e Diretor Art\u00edstico do \u201cProjeto:Can\u00e7\u00e3o\u201d, criou um festival dedicado ao Lied no Porto, em 2022, com a miss\u00e3o de promover este g\u00e9nero em Portugal.<\/span><\/p>

In addition to various recordings for Antena 2 (Portugal) and ORF (Austria), he has released two albums featuring works by Portuguese composers<\/span><\/p>

Jo\u00e3o Ara\u00fajo specialized in vocal accompaniment and chamber music at the Royal College of Music in London, where he studied with Simon Lepper, Nigel Clayton, and Roger Vignoles.\nHe previously earned his degree at ESMAE, in the class of Madalena Soveral, and completed a Master\u2019s in Music Education at the University of Minho, under the guidance of Lu\u00eds Pipa.\n\nAs a collaborative pianist, he has received several awards, including \u201cBest Collaborative Pianist\u201d at the Montreal International Music Competition (Canada) and at the Maureen Lehane Vocal Awards at Wigmore Hall, in addition to a nomination for the Gerald Moore Award (UK).<\/span><\/p>

His concert activity has taken him to perform in several countries across Europe and the Americas.<\/span><\/p>

He regularly works as a collaborative pianist in masterclasses with renowned artists such as Kiri Te Kanawa, Graham Johnson, and Pascal Moragu\u00e8s, among others.<\/span><\/p>

Currently, he serves as a vocal and strings accompanist at the University of Aveiro and at ESART in Castelo Branco.<\/span><\/p>

Holding a Master\u2019s degree in Cultural Studies and Management from ISCTE and a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Piano from ESML, he completed his piano studies at the National Conservatory with the highest honors. A winner of several competitions, he performs regularly in concerts across the country and abroad in various ensembles, with a strong focus on promoting Portuguese musical heritage.<\/span><\/p>

Works in a duo with cellist Nuno Cardoso, soprano Sofia Marafona, and pianist Philippe Marques\u2014with whom he has already released three CDs.<\/span><\/p>

He is the President of the Board of MPMP Patrim\u00f3nio Musical Vivo, an association he founded in 2009. In this role, he has been responsible for concert programming, presenting several lecture-recitals, and the musical and artistic direction of unprecedented recordings. These include the complete recording of Jo\u00e3o Domingos Bomtempo's sonatas (by Philippe Marques) and the keyboard works of Carlos Seixas (by Jos\u00e9 Carlos Ara\u00fajo). He has also recorded multiple times for Antena 2, for TV Brasil (during a 2014 tour), and premiered works by several contemporary composers for MPMP's various collections.<\/span><\/p>

He was the executive director of Glosas magazine between 2017 and 2020. In 2014, he completed his Master\u2019s degree in Music Teaching at the Escola Superior de M\u00fasica de Lisboa under the supervision of Jorge Moyano and Miguel Henriques. To further refine his piano skills, he participated in masterclasses with Galina Eguiazarova, Sequeira Costa, Miklos Sp\u00e1nyi, Fausto Neves, Roberto Turin, Artur Pizarro, Mikhail Markov, Ant\u00f3nio Rosado, and Arcadi Volodos.<\/span><\/p>

In the field of vocal coaching and accompaniment, he participated in workshops with Jo\u00e3o Paulo Santos, Claudio Desderi, Jory Vinikour, and Paul McCreesh. He has also worked on several opera productions, with notable collaborations including the Terras sem Sombra Festival, Teatro Nacional de S\u00e3o Carlos, the Opera Atelier of the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa, and the Orquestra Filarm\u00f3nica Portuguesa.<\/span><\/p>

In 2023, alongside Armando Possante and the Grupo Vocal Olisipo, he recorded the album \u201cUma Grande Raz\u00e3o: Songs for Voice and Piano by Christopher Bochmann\u201d, released by AVA Musical Editions.<\/span><\/p>

He collaborates regularly with the Gulbenkian Choir as an accompanist and as a guest instrumentalist with the Gulbenkian Orchestra. Notable performances include playing as first soloist in Magnus Lindberg\u2019s Graffiti, conducted by Hannu Lintu, and Pierre Boulez\u2019s Pli selon pli, conducted by Pedro Amaral.<\/span><\/p>

Born in Romania, she graduated in Piano from the National University of Music Bucharest. She has won awards in several competitions and recorded for Bucharest Radio and Television, as well as TV Cultura in Brazil.<\/span><\/p>

Between 2000 and 2018, she lived in Brazil, where she was a pianist for the OSESP Foundation (S\u00e3o Paulo State Symphony Orchestra) and a piano teacher at the Municipal School of Music of S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/span><\/p>

She was an accompanist professor at EPBI, ESART, and ANSO Metropolitana.<\/span><\/p>

She has performed in concerts with the Gulbenkian Orchestra, the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, and the Algarve Orchestra. Currently, she teaches piano at the National Conservatory and serves as an accompanist at the University of \u00c9vora.<\/span><\/p>

She is a member of the Lisbon Contemporary Music Group and maintains an intense artistic schedule in solo recitals and chamber music.
